Technicians: Enrol and Complete Safety Technician Training
Verify Technician Certification: During the enrolment process, your Skilled Trades Ontario (STO) Membership ID will be validated through Skilled Trades Ontario. Please ensure your Technician's Certificate of Qualification is valid and up to date for the vehicles they work on and inspect.
To reduce delays, it is recommended that Technicians confirm that their Certificate of Qualification is valid and active in advance of enrolment by calling 1-855-299-0028 or going online and checking the public registry for their status through Skilled Trades Ontario (www.skilledtradesontario.ca/public-register/). Ensure that all fees have been paid, and that the Technician’s status is active and valid. This can be checked by the Technicians themselves or the VIC owner.
Please ensure your certification is up to date prior to registering for training.
To begin, all Technicians must create an account in the DriveON Portal. Please visit www.driveonportal.com to register as a new user. Your temporary Portal password will be emailed to you at the email you register with.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The account MUST be created using the same name (First, Middle and Last) exactly as shown on your Skilled Trades Ontario (STO) membership. To be able to take the online safety training modules and perform safety inspections, the name registered MUST match your STO membership information.
NOTE: To create a DriveON Portal account, you must enter a unique email address and mobile number that will be used during enrolment, training, and vehicle inspections.
You will receive an email with your new ID and a temporary password for the Portal to the email registered with.
Important Note: Please use a computer to complete your enrolment and training. You may need to temporarily turn off pop-up blockers in your browser prior to beginning the Technician training process.
